01Who is responsible for your data

Edwin Castro Granados, known as Kché, owner of Kche's Barber Shop, with two shops in Costa Rica:

• Uvita: 150 m east of the BCR bank entrance, across from the Health Center (Área de Salud), Uvita de Osa, Puntarenas.
• Palmares: from the park, 70 m along the road to the community hall (salón comunal), next to the bike shop (el ciclo), Palmares, Pérez Zeledón, San José.

This policy applies to kchebarbershop.com, including the Academy page, and to the service we provide through the channels the site links to. It is governed by Ley 8968, Costa Rica's Law on the Protection of the Person regarding the Processing of their Personal Data, and its regulations.

02What data we process

When you visit the site

The server that hosts the site logs technical data for each visit: the IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the browser type and the site you came from. The hosting provider keeps this log so the site works, stays secure and problems can be fixed. We don't use it to identify you or for advertising.

When you contact us

If you contact us by WhatsApp, email or Instagram, we receive your name or your profile name, your number or email address, and whatever you choose to tell us: the service you're looking for, the date of an appointment, the address for a house call from The Private Barber, or your interest in the Academy.

The site's WhatsApp buttons open the app with a suggested message that you can change or choose not to send. The site doesn't send anything on its own.

Within the business, your messages are seen only by Kché and the members of his team who handle the site's two WhatsApp numbers (8764-6083 and 8607-1945), the barbershop's email and its Instagram.

What we don't ask for

We don't ask for sensitive data (health, religion, political opinions, sex life or anything of that kind). Please don't send it to us.

03What we use it for

• To answer your questions and arrange your service or appointment.
• To handle requests for information about the Academy.
• To keep the site running and secure, in the case of the technical logs.

Giving us your data is voluntary. If you'd rather not, you can still walk in to either shop on a first-come, first-served basis; the only thing we won't be able to do is reply to you or hold an appointment for you by message.

We don't sell your data. We'll only send you promotions or news if you tell us you want them, and you can ask us to stop at any time.

04Photos, videos and reviews

The haircut photos and videos we post on the site and on Instagram are used with the permission of the person who appears in them; for minors, with the permission of their mother, father or guardian. If you appear in one and want it taken down, message us and we'll remove it.

The reviews we show are public Google reviews, under the name their author posted them with. If you wrote one and would rather it not appear on the site, we'll remove it.

05Who we share it with

We don't hand your data over to anyone to use for their own purposes. To operate, we rely on these services, each with its own privacy policy:

• SiteGround, which hosts the site and keeps the technical log of visits. Its servers for this site are in the United States.
• WhatsApp (Meta), when you message us on WhatsApp.
• Gmail (Google), when you email us.
• Instagram (Meta), if you message us or visit our profile.
• Google Maps, if you tap “Get directions” or open the reviews: Google Maps opens on your device.
• Danta Negra, which builds and maintains the site, can access the server to do that work. It does not receive your conversations.

Some of these services store information outside Costa Rica, mainly in the United States. When you tap a link to WhatsApp, Instagram or Google Maps, you leave this site and that company's terms apply.

06Cookies

This site doesn't use cookies or store anything in your browser. The only thing your browser may keep is a copy of pages, images and fonts (the cache), so your next visit loads faster. That copy stays on your device, and you can clear it from your browser settings.

07How long we keep it

• Conversations and contact details: for as long as we need them to serve you. You can ask us to delete them.
• Technical visit log: kept by the hosting provider for the period set by its own policy.

08Your rights

Under Ley 8968, you can at any time:

• Access your data: find out whether we hold any data about you, what it is and what we use it for.
• Correct any data that is wrong or out of date.
• Delete your data when it is no longer needed or when you withdraw your consent.
• Object to any use you have not authorized and withdraw your consent, without retroactive effect.

To do so, write to us at kchecastrog@gmail.com or on WhatsApp and tell us what you need. We may ask you for a piece of information to confirm the request is yours. It's free, and we resolve your request within a maximum of five business days from the day we receive it.

If you believe we did not handle your request properly, you can file a complaint with the Agencia de Protección de Datos de los Habitantes (Prodhab), Costa Rica's data protection authority: prodhab.go.cr.

09Security

The site is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), with security headers that prevent code from other sites from loading and stop the page from being embedded inside another one. No system is foolproof: if an incident affecting your data ever occurred, we would let you know.

10Site terms of use

• The site is for information only. Hours, services, availability and prices are confirmed by WhatsApp or at the shop, and may change without notice.
• The Academy's terms (enrollment, payments, cancellation and certification) are given to you before you enroll.
• The photos, videos, logo and original text on this site belong to Kche's Barber Shop and may not be copied or used without permission. The reviews belong to their authors.
• Links to other sites (WhatsApp, Instagram, Google Maps) are governed by those companies' terms.
• These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica.

11Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If the change is significant — for example, if the site ever starts using analytics or cookies — we will explain it here before it takes effect.
